New staff hired for food services program

Chartwells School Dining Services, the district’s contracted food services provider, recently hired Mr. David Busch as the director of dining services for the Hermiston Schools.

Mr. Busch has 20 years of management experience in fine dining, leisure hospitality, casinos, resorts and senior healthcare. His many accomplishments include serving as the vice president of the Polk Country Chapter of the American Culinary Federation, and contributing to the 1988 Republican Presidential Convention in New Orleans when he worked in contract catering for the Fine Dining and Convention Centers Division.

“I am excited to join the professionals in the Hermiston School District,” stated Busch.  “I look forward to building positive relationships with staff and would like to have the opportunity to help people understand the science relevant to nutrition and how to incorporate that knowledge into a healthy lifestyle.”

Chartwells also recently hired Ms. Kimberly Timms as an assistant director. Her duties include overseeing the marketing and safety aspects of the program. Ms. Timms is a long time Hermiston resident and has children in the Hermiston school system.
